It may not be fully flexible, but it does bend up to a point and so it’s definitely the start of a fresh fad. Maybe the beginning of a whole new mobile tech era. Best of all, it’s available now in a handful of Asian countries, being ready to take over the entire world in a couple of months or so.
It’s LG’s G Flex, one of two curved display smartphones, alongside Samsung’s Galaxy Round. Seen getting FCC’s blessing less than a month ago in Sprint-destined attire, the 6-incher has had a press shot leaked to the press earlier today, again in a variant especially designed for America’s number three wireless carrier.
Unlike some of its attention-whoring competitors (I’m looking at you, Verizon), the Now Network doesn’t usually insist on slapping its own logos on gadgets. And fortunately, the G Flex is no exception.
Thus, the big guy is as clean and smooth in this pic as in any other photos. Maybe even sharper-looking, though that might be due to Sprint employees going a little overboard in showing off their Photoshop skills.
Anyhoo, make no mistake, the image above is legit, as it comes from a rock-solid source, and it may have revealed G Flex’s launch date on Sprint: February 7. Your move, AT&T, T-Mobile.
