If you’re a business professional, it’s likely that presentations are part of your job. I’ve done a few in my time, and I can say that nailing a great presentation in front of peers or management is a terrific feeling.
I’ve seen botched presentations done by others, however. The best ways to screw up is by not rehearsing and having cheap equipment.
Gyration, a manufacturer of motion-sensing input devices, has recently announced its latest enhanced product. The Gyration Air Mouse Mobile features a typical mouse design that is capable of “in air” cursor movement.
I’ve seen (and used) many pointer devices meant for presentations. Ones small and simple, attaching to keychains, as well as more robust models close to the size of a Wii chuck. In my opinion, none of them have really been an elegant solution for remote-controlling a laptop.
The Gyration Air Mouse Mobile looks and acts like a mouse first. But the benefit of this one is that you can pick it up, step away from a laptop, and move the cursor as needed, all without a second device.
Enhancements include the ability to set gesture controls on top of having normal movement recognized. The included software lets you customize the buttons and motions with ease. You also don’t need a direct line of sight since the Gyration Air Mouse Mobile uses a wireless receiver to communicate with a laptop.
But lets be honest. This mouse is most likely to see action while at home. Watching a movie on your laptop? Or maybe you have it hooked up to your TV via HDMI cable, for streaming internet content? Either way, once you’re good and comfortable you’re not going to want to budge an inch. The Gyration Air Mouse Mobile gives that reach without having to move your butt.
