No doubt that the Pebble is one of the highly anticipated smartwatches last 2013 and this new year. We’re guessing it will be more popular among the geeks as the Pebble team will be launching the official appstore in a few weeks. Following the footsteps of Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Windows Marketplace, Pebble’s AppStore will be that one-stop-shop for all your Pebble needs.
Right now, Pebble owners refer to third-party websites to get apps for their smartwatch. Pebble developers have asked for a Pebble appstore and it will go live anytime soon, of course, with the Pebble SDK 2.0.
Like most app stores, the Pebble appstore will be the first place where Pebble users would search for apps. Pebble app developers will now have a place to market their apps under seven categories: Watchfaces, Tools & Utilities, Sports & Fitness , Remotes, Games, Notifications, and Daily.
Just before the holiday season started, Pebble developers were invited to submit their apps. Only those new and running the 2.0 version of the Pebble SDK will be accepted by the team.
