It’s so close that we can almost taste it. And this time, it’s for real. Sony is undoubtedly just days, maybe hours away from making the highly anticipated Xperia Z1s official, including in a flavor stamped with T-Mobile’s logo.
A high-quality press shot of this T-Mo-bound Z1s has been tweeted earlier today by leaker extraordinaire @evleaks, whose track record and reliability speak much louder than words. Moments after, the insider has also published a purported spec sheet of the handheld, which falls perfectly in line with recent reports and speculation.
So now it’s a question of “when”, not “if”. Our best guesses is the so-called “international” variant of the phone known in Japan as the Xperia Z1 f will either go official Tuesday, January 7, at CES in Las Vegas, or 48 hours later, during a glitzy press event organized by America’s number four wireless network.
Of course, a double unveiling could well be in the cards, since the diminutive Xperia Z1 is expected to take not only America by storm, but also Europe. Without further adieu, here are the features of the Xperia Z1 “mini”, as tipped by @evleaks:
- 4.3-inch display with 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution
- Quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 SoC
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB on-board storage
- 20.7 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash
- 2 MP secondary snapper
- 2,300 mAh battery
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
- Water and dust protection
