Corning Shows Off Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass

Corning is perhaps one of the biggest mobile display maker today supplying the biggest companies in the mobile industry. Back in October, we even mentioned Corning and Samsung strengthening their partnership. The year starts for Corning by announcing a new Gorilla Glass that could kill germs.

An antimicrobial Gorilla Glass is said to inhibit growth of germs, bacteria, fungi and whatever that may grow on your touch phones and tablets. Corning made this possible by adding an ionic silver coating.

The company made the announcement at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2014) sharing they’ve got first EPA-registered antimicrobial cover glass. The ionic silver which is an antibacterial agent has been added to the glass surface. You know how bacteria can easily multiply and hard so it’s good that Corning is offering a better and cleaner alternative. Of course, you still have to clean your mobile device by wiping it but an antibacterial glass display sounds better.
