Boy, is Motorola moving fast. First, they unleashed the Moto G ahead of schedule on the old continent and in Brazil. Then they did the same stateside. And to make up for getting the unbelievably cheap and solid 4.5-inch phone after Europeans, Motorola rewarded Americans with an unexpectedly quick Android 4.4 KitKat update.
No prizes for guessing which new endeavor the Google-owned company fulfilled just hours ago, as rivers of chocolate have started trickling in around Europe. Reports are flying in regards to people scoring Android 4.4 in UK and Germany, but that’s surely only the beginning, with other markets set to follow suit before long.
Basically, if everything goes smoothly (and we don’t see why it wouldn’t), all Moto G users across the world shall have a taste of KitKat by the end of the month. Possibly, earlier.
Among the enhancements brought to the table by the latest Android release, restyled status and navigations bars, a new full-screen mode, stronger security and smarter power use are just the tip of the iceberg. Expect also bug fixes, network, camera and overall performance bumps. Bottom line, the Moto G becomes a Nexus device for all intents and purposes. Huzzah!
