What could Motorola have next on its agenda now that the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrading affair for both the Moto X and G has been almost fully concluded? Any guesses? No? Then maybe a UK press event invite and job listing can help unfold some theories.
January 14 (i.e. next Tuesday) is apparently the date “a bit of an announcement” is to go down in London, with the invitation’s text supplying few clues as to what exactly Moto may have tucked up its sleeve: “Following the global launch of Moto G, we would like to invite you to join us on the next step of Motorola’s journey, as we welcome a new addition to the European Motorola family of products.”
Mind you, new addition to the “European Motorola family” doesn’t necessarily mean brand new global product, as the Moto X has so far been a US exclusive. Oh, look, it appears we cracked the case. Especially as Motorola officials have suggested not long ago the X is due for an old continent rollout.
Also, the Google-owned company is reportedly seeking a UK-based program manager for Moto Maker. What’s the only device customizable through the program? Bingo, there you have it. So January 14, Moto X, Moto Maker, hopefully with a nice price shave compared with what Motorola first charged stateside.
