First, rumors pegged it for the last days of 2013. Soon after, an official announcement came, with a much vaguer and somber timeline: late Q1 2014. But then the ETA was again tweaked, to January, though it was very clearly not set in stone.
Hopes were kept alive by LG pushing out Android 4.4 KitKat for the G2 in South Korea, only in the end making the update available worldwide is apparently a harder and lengthier process than one would imagine.
As such, the newest (and possibly most believable) deadline is, I’m afraid, March 2014. LG France tweeted the date, LG Italy basically confirmed it on Facebook, and LG Saudi Arabia, which initially messed up and announced the OTA will roll out this month, retracted the statement, also issuing an apology, but no fresh ETA.
The worst thing about this entire affair is a timetable including the US never came up, meaning the best case scenario is the G2 will be bumped up to Android 4.4 in March on the old continent, with stateside models following suit maybe in April or May.
