Sony may not be the world’s zippiest Android device manufacturer when it comes to rolling out software updates, but the Xperia creators are definitely among the more diligent, hard-working players of the mobile market.
Take the Xperia T, TX, V and SP. The quartet isn’t exactly the hottest, most technically impressive in Sony’s lineup, yet that doesn’t mean the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update bandwagon will leave them behind.
Instead, it’s now official: all four phones are to take the leap of faith starting later this month. Sony’s full tweet on the issue reads as follows:
“We hear you. JB 4.3 for Xperia T, TX, V, SP – we’re making final preps & will start rolling from end Jan/ early Feb.”
Important disclaimer: Sony doesn’t stress the ETA as being for the start of the updates by chance, and odds are the bumps will be fractionate and gradual, as always. So try to be patient and understanding a few more weeks, maybe over a month, as the OTAs are working their way towards you.
Meanwhile, I’m sure you’re disappointed there’s still no movement on the Android 4.4 KitKat front. Even for hotter Xperias such as the Z1, Z or Z Ultra. However, keeping in mind the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra scored 4.3 roughly 30 days ago, it shouldn’t be long until Sony decides to take things to the next level.
Besides, better to have to wait than be left in the dust completely, right?
