Samsung is currently doing a surprisingly solid and steady job in rolling out (relatively) quick Android 4.4 KitKat updates for its flagship devices, starting with the Galaxy Note 3. But the concern is once the third-gen phablet and the Galaxy S4 get bumped up, the software support will weaken once more.
Then again, numerous reports of the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 being next in line were floating around not long ago. And now we have a more precise ETA, thanks to a “Samsung software engineer” contacted by Android Guys.
This official allegedly confirmed yesteryear’s high-enders are right behind the Note 3/S4 duo, with OTAs likely to go out as early as March. Well, he actually said “late Q1 2014”, not March, but trust us, that’s what he meant.
Of course, without this “mole” disclosing his identity and assuming the information spill, it could all be a sham. But it fits, and most of the time, when it does, it’s because it’s true. Now what about those older Galaxy devices that were reportedly “under investigation”? Do you think they got the green light?
