Sony Xperia Z Ultra phoneThe Xperia is perhaps Sony’s most successful line. We’ve seen numerous phones and tablets  under it already. There’s the Xperia Z2 expected to launch at the Mobile World Congress and the Xperia Z1S that is arriving soon. among others. Well, don’t be too excited though as the upcoming Xperia Z Ultra might come only as a WiFi tablet. We had high hopes for this possible iPad mini killer but the latest buzz that a model with no mobile baseband radio was recently seen at the FCC grounds. The Xperia Z is said to only have a Snapdragon 800 MSM8074 SoC processor. That means it will only have WiFi– no 4G/LTE or 3G.

The FCC sighting still shows the tablet will have a microSD card slot, 32GB memory, 2GB RAM, 8MP camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. No information on availability and pricing but if they say it’s an iPad mini rival, it might have a lower than $399 price tag. We’ll see about that.
