Nokia Lumia 929 aka Lumia Icon is one of the worst kept secrets of Verizon as well as Nokia. Everything about the handset has been leaked numerous times in the past. Things have gone so far that it appeared on Verizon’s website for a brief moment, not once but twice, in the past few days, detailing what the handset will bring at the table — most of which we already know, thanks to the rumor mill.
Now, to add more spice to all the rumors, the famed @evleaks has tweeted out an image from the user manual of the Nokia Lumia Icon, with a caption suggesting it might launch next month on 5th or it could be March 5th, after we’re done with the Mobile World Congress 2013.
In case you were completely struck off from the internet, the handset is rumored to arrive in the US as Verizon exclusive, and should come with a similar set of specifications as the Lumia 1520, but packed inside a smaller form factor.
Based on rumors, Nokia Lumia Icon aka Lumia 929 will feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, 2,420 mAh battery, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset with a clock speed of 2.3GHz, 20MP rear camera for photos and videos, 1.2MP front-facing camera and expected to ship with Windows Phone 8 Lumia Black pre-installed out of the box.
Now that we have a date to wait for, let’s see if it’s true this time, as we’ve seen several launch dates in the past. Some rumors suggested Verizon has delayed the launch on purpose for Microsoft to complete the acquisition of the Devices and Services division of Nokia, but there’s no official word about it.
Let’s hope the launch date is correct this time. We’ll update you if more information appears on the internet.
