If you held off on the holiday smartphone shopping but you’re ready for something new, Best Buy has you covered. From Sunday, February 2, through Saturday, February 15, customers who sign up to buy a new mobile phone will be given a $50 gift card.

It’s seemingly a little complicated, but here’s how it works. First, users register their mobile phone number and email address at Best Buy’s Gift Card Offer page, and you must register during the promotion’s dates. Then, users can buy and activate their new mobile phone with a two year-agreement through AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless via Best Buy. You have a little more wiggle room here – activations are good from February 2 til December 31.

Then, Best Buy will automatically send you your $50 gift card. The nice thing is you can apply it to your mobile phone purchase.
An upgrade or a port-in activation counts towards the gift card, but a new phone number does not.

So, will you be taking advantage of Best Buy’s $50 gift card offer for mobile phones?
