BodyMedia, a company recently acquired by Jawbone, develops wearable technology such as the [easyazon-link asin=”B00A17IAO0″ locale=”us”]UP band[/easyazon-link] that benefit users medically. The company is the creator of [easyazon-link asin=”B0049POHK6″ locale=”us”]an armband[/easyazon-link] that helps people lose weight by tracking multitudes of data particular to the wearer.imgres-1

The system tracks an individual’s calories, exercise, and sleep patterns to create the most accurate-to-you weight loss plan available. The armband knows your calories burned, steps taken, activity level, and sleep quality. It connects directly to your smartphone using Bluetooth where you can use the mobile app to view your Dashboard and check up on your information to help you monitor your progress.

[easyazon-link asin=”B0049POHK6″ locale=”us”]the band[/easyazon-link] is different because it’s accurate. This band knows if you ran up a hill or if you strolled down one, whereas other trackers can’t tell the difference.  More importantly, the FIT coach feature actually coaches you on how to change your lifestyle, one step at a time. FIT coach analyzes the data and provides feedback on how such as recommending something different to eat or adjusting activity levels and sleep.

The band even works with other apps such as Withings to automatically record your weight direct from the your Withings scale, MyFitnessPal to log your meals, and Runkeeper to streamline your virtual personal trainer experience.

The band was recently featured on The Biggest Loser and is endorsed by health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels.
