So the Samsung Galaxy Gear is out but I’m not sure if it’s popular as the [easyazon-link asin=”B00BKEQBI0″ locale=”us”]Pebble[/easyazon-link]. I know the smartwatch will have its time and we just have to be patient. Perhaps if the Tizen version is launched, the Galaxy Gear will be favored by the geeks.
The news is from USA Today who reported the Tizen version will be revealed at the MWC in Barcelona. Switching from Android to Tizen, the Galaxy Gear will run on HTML5. If this is the case, then the hard work or Android developers on Galaxy Gear would be put to waste.
Is Samsung favoring Tizen over Android? It has the power to do so but is it really necessary? Android is good enough the company should just build on the platform especially if Samsung wants the Galaxy Gear to work with other Galaxy devices.
So much has been said I can’t wait for February 24. We’ll know the truth at Samsung’s Unpacked event. See you there.
