Are you ready for our awesome weekly Kickstarter installment? Of course you are! This is one for all those folks like me who are constantly losing things. Just last week, I spent an hour looking for the headphones that were around my neck. You can’t make this stuff up. Anyways, The Gatekeeper Kickstarter project is sure to change the amount of time you spend looking for things.

So feel free to spend those extra hours doing something valuable like reading. Or let’s be real…watching copious amounts of The League on Netflix. Yes, that IS what I’ve been doing all week.

Okay, so here’s my basic summary of the Gatekeeper. It’s a tag that utilizes Bluetooth technology to locate whatever you put the tag on. As pictured on the Kickstarter page, you can even put it on your dog! Sorry, Fido, no more freedom runs for you!

And you can, of course, see how useful this would be in locating something like your phone. As the campaign says, there are reportedly $30 billion worth of phones lost in the U.S. each year. Luckily I can say I am not one of those unlucky phone-losers, but it’s only a matter of time. My ticket is up.

And another useful statistic on the campaign page, “According to Boston Marketing firm, the average American burns 55 minutes a day looking for things they know they own but cannot find. That adds up to a total of almost 14 days a year people spend just trying to find lost things.”

Like I said, lots of episodes of [easyazon-link asin=”B00AB65T7W” locale=”us”]The League[/easyazon-link] to be watched.

That’s not all it can do, however. It can also auto lock and unlock your Mac or PC. This also saves some time in the grand scheme of things. It also improves security. One of the examples the Gatekeeper page talks about is hindering your friends from changing your Facebook status. We’ve all been there! I still haven’t forgiven you, Tricia. You know what you did.

There’s a lot more things the Gatekeeper can do, so read up on the project here: Gatekeeper.

The campaign has only 8 more days to go, so back it if you’re interested!
