Believe it or not, I’m satisfied with my iPhone 4. I haven’t decided if I’ll get the next-gen iPhone or get an Android for my next smartphone. I’m all for function more than form and I’m definitely not a fan of novelty. But then again the Gionee Elife S5.5 looks promising being the thinnest handset in the world right now.
The phone will launch this coming March 18 in China. It’s super thin at 5.5mm and comes equipped with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, 5MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, 2300 mAh battery,16GB internal memory, and a 1.7 GHz octacore MediaTek MT6592 processor. It’s thin alright but its battery life can last long. Sadly, no microSD slot has been added by the OEM.
The phone was manufactured by Gionee, a company which recently partnered with Microsoft.
The Elife S5.5 will be available in China initially but Gionee will bring this to 40 more countries. The LTE model will be out by June. The 3G version will cost you only $374— affordable enough to have the “thinnest” in the world. Who’s getting one?
