Google Chromecast becomes available in 11 more countries

Google today announced that its Chromecast HDMI media streaming player is now available in 11 more countries namely, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the U.K. If you live in any of those countries, you can now purchase the Chromecast from the Google Play store.

Google also announced that aside from YouTube, Google Play, Movies, Google Play Music and Netflix, more apps are made available starting today. These include BBC iPlayer, TV Pluzz and SFR TV. Plus there will be more coming soon as Google continues to negotiate with local content provider to bring in more movies and TV shows available for streaming via Google Chromecast.

And if these were not enough, Google also said they have opened up Chromecast for Developers. As of now there are 3,000 developers worldwide who have signed up to make their apps available to Google Chromecast.

Chromecast is also available for sale from Amazon, Currys PC World, Elkjop, FNAC, Saturn, Media Mark among other retailers in the 11 countries mentioned.
