It looks like Sony isn’t great at prioritizing lately, as the Xperia Z2 smartphone has trouble meeting deadlines, whereas the Xperia Z2 Tablet… doesn’t. Don’t get us wrong, we love, love, love the company’s latest 10-inch slate effort.
But we dig its little brother more. Plus, who is Sony kidding, high-end, expensive Android tabs are still extremely nichey products. Unlike Android handhelds, which have recently overcome iPhones in mainstream worldwide popularity.
At any rate, if you happen to live on British shores and need a sleek, punchy, not extremely productive PC replacement, you’ll be happy to hear Sony’s Xperia Z2 Tablet is up for grabs starting at £399. That’s $660, though stateside, it should convert to no more than $450.
The 16 GB Wi-Fi only version is of course the one going for £399, with double the storage and the same restricted connectivity option raising the bar to £449. Both models are currently in stock and shipping in a matter of days, with no extra costs charged by Sony.
Also, a limited-time deal can get Xperia Z2 Tablet buyers an extended 3-year warranty for just one pence. Sure, no one plans to hang on to a gadget for so long, but hey, since the extension is essentially free, it couldn’t hurt to grab it.
Want something to always keep you connected? The LTE-enabled Z2 Tab isn’t excessively costly, at £499, however it’s still on pre-order and likely shipping in a few weeks, at the earliest.
