After the HTC One M8 and the rumored HTC One M8 mini, HTC is still expected to showcase another smartphone: the HTC Desire 616. We initially thought it was the HTC Desire 610 but this new offering from the company was recently approved in China.

The HTC Desire 616 is very much different from the flagship One M8. The new Desire is more powerful as an octa-core smartphone. It comes equipped with 1GB RAM, octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek processor, 5-inch 720p display screen, 8 megapixel camera, and LED flash.

The Android smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. You can choose from five different colors: yellow, red, blue, white, and black. As usual, no information on how much the HTC Desire 616 will be or when is the release date.

The HTC Desire 616 is believed to be made for China only. It’s true that there is a great need for high octa-core phones in the emerging market.

With this announcement, we can really say that HTC is on a roll. Earlier, the mid-range HTC Desire 310 was unveiled. We’ve also heard of the HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 516, and HTC Desire 8/A5 earlier this year. All we need to do is just wait for an official announcement. Before the announcement, maybe some more rumors and leaked images?
