Remember that blurry time in your life where all you were doing was trying to beat your friends’ high scores in Flappy Bird? Sure, it was around Valentine’s Day and you probably had more important things to do, but instead you opted to sit on the couch and play away hours of your life while your poor thumbs developed calluses. It couldn’t have just been me!
And if you recall, in quite the diva move Dong Nguyen yanked the app from the app store in February as well, soon after its booming success. Nguyen just seemingly couldn’t take the heat of being a celebrity app developer.
Well, if you never got the chance to download Flappy Bird before it was pulled, August will give you that second chance. Nguyen said in an interview with CNBC that the app will include multi-player capabilities and be less addictive…whatever that means. Also, that sounds like a GREAT business model. But who am I to judge?
But in all honesty, does anyone still care? Once Nguyen’s Flappy Bird app was pulled from the app shelves, there was an overload of equally addictive knock-off games to take its place, and its monetary success.
Do we still need Flappy Bird? Probably not. Did we ever need it? Definitely not.
But hey, if you want to try the original addictive game, I guess this is good news. Although, like Nguyen said, it’s sure to be LESS ADDICTING.
