Have around 100 bucks saved for a new Android tablet but can’t make up your mind between Toshiba’s Excite Go, Lenovo’s A7 and HP’s 7 Plus? Maybe Kmart and Acer can lend a hand and help get you out of the pickle.
Released a mere three months back and initially sold for $180, the Iconia A1-830 slate is, likely for a limited time only, available on Kmart’s website at $99.99. Bizarrely, although the deal is classified as an online exclusive, shipping is “temporarily unavailable”, so you’ll need to find a brick and mortar store nearby and pick it up from there.
Still up for grabs north of $140 through retailers such as Amazon or Best Buy, Acer’s little guy is a perfect fit for tech hoarders, thanks to 16 GB internal storage space and microSD support, plus it offers outstanding battery life given its price range: up to 7.5 hours on a single charge.
Powered by a decently zippy dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom chip and 1 GB RAM, the 7.9-inch Iconia A1-830 also features more than satisfactory 5 MP and 2 MP cameras, so basically, its biggest flaws are humble screen resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels), and an aging pre-loaded Android build (4.2 Jelly Bean). Surely you can live with that, can’t you?
