Sony will launch its Xperia Z2 tablet in the United States on July 17, and the device will be made available as a Verizon Wireless exclusive. Pre-orders will start on July 10 for $600 without a contract and $500 with a two-year wireless service agreement. Much like the Xperia phones, the Xperia Z2 tablet comes with 4G LTE, a waterproof display, and a high-end 1920-by-1200 display resolution.
The US version of Sony’s tablet comes with a few special offers. Verizon says that it will include a noise-cancelling headset with the tablet for an unspecified period of time, and US customers also receive a handful of movies. American Hustle, This Is The End, Amazing Spiderman, and three others, are provided with the tablet.
Sony fans can pick up the already released SmartWatch 2 Pro and SmartBand wearables from Verizon as well. Both of those wearables will work well with the Xperia Z2, though there are probably better options from Android Wear partners like LG.
Along with being waterproof, Sony says that the Xperia Z2 is rated IP55 which covers dust resistance. On the inside of the tablet is a 2.3GHz Qualcomm processor and Adreno 330 graphics processor.
Verizon will have a few accessories available for the tablet when it launches.
