Not too long ago, HTC unveiled the HTC One E8, which offers a similar set of specifications as the HTC One M8 except the Duo cameras. If you’re based in India waiting for the handset to go official, there’s a piece of good news for you. The Taiwanese OEM has announced the HTC One E8 for Rs 34,900 ($580), and will hit retail by the end of July. It’s not the only handset, HTC also unveiled the Desire 616 in the country at Rs. 16,900, with sales commencing this week.
HTC One E8 offers top-of-the-line specifications and comes with a 5-inch display sporting a 1080p resolution, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 13MP camera on the back for photos and videos as well as a 5MP front-facing camera, a 2,600 mAh battery and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6 UI on top of it. Additionally, it will come in dual-SIM flavors since the feature is quite popular in India.
As for the Desire 616, it rocks a 5-inch 720 display, an octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card. There’s a 8MP rear camera as well as a 2MP front facing camera, 2,000 mAh battery and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as its operating system, which may come as a disappointment for several users.
