Tango is releasing a photo-sharing app that allows you to combine a slideshow of your favorite pictures with music. The result is something similar to the massively popular “Stories” feature from Snapchat.
Basically, Tango Music Pix lets you select up to 10 images from your camera roll. These images will make up the slideshow. You are then given the option of setting the slideshow to any pre-selected 30-second music clip.
The music, which is mostly made up of pop tunes, will come from Tango’s partner, Spotify.
Once ready, the music video can be shared to your Tango profile. Videos can also be shared via Facebook or Twitter.
Tango is not unlike Asian messaging apps such as Kakao Talk and Line – services which also have music apps that utilize local music.
According to Tango, it currently has over 25 million users daily and about 200 million registered users, with most of its traffic coming from the US. The company is focusing on the content of its apps, so expect more interesting news in the future.
Currently, the app is limited to iOS devices, and can only be purchased from the US App Store. Tango has yet to reveal if it will be available outside the US, or if will come to Android devices.
