Wearable industry is on the rise, with the smartwatches gaining popularity every single day. There are many smartwatches available in the market, with big manufacturers jumping in the industry with their own wearable devices — Google even introduced their own operating system dubbed as Android Wear for smartwatches. LG and Samsung have already released Android Wear smartwatches, but there’s more.
Recently, Omate released their Omate X smartwatch, which comes with a premium design and an interchangeable leather strap. Unlike its predecessor, Omate X comes with a Nucleas operating system, and comes with support for Android and iOS devices to serve as a companion device for iOS and Android devices.
The smartwatch measures 45 x 41 x 11.2 mm and features a 1.54-inch display sporting a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, with a MediaTek MT2502A processor under the hood. There’s 128MB of memory and it uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE to connect with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher, or iOS 6 or higher in terms of an iPhone. There’s a 400 mAh battery which can last almost seven days on a full charge.
The pre-orders are set to kick off on September 1st, with an expected launch in October, for just $129, which is lower than most of the smartwatches available in the market. The specifications may be lower than some of the wearable devices, but it offers a very decent design, and is compatible with most of the smartphones.
