Dropbox is one of the most popular cloud storage services available on the internet. The company offers various plans to cater to the needs of various types of internet users. Recently, the company announced the updated Dropbox Pro which now comes with 1TB of storage, as well as a few more features for just $9.99 per month or $99.99 a year.
Previously, Dropbox offered 100GB of storage for $9.99, 200GB for $19.99 and 500GB for $49.99 a month, so it’s a big drop. This is due to the competitive pricing offered by OneDrive and Google Drive. Google Drive already offers a similar plan for the $9.99 price tag, while One Drive for Business comes with a $2.50 a month.
The new plan also offers new sharing controls, allowing users to password protect the links so that only people who you want can access the links. Additionally, you can also specify the time after which the shared link will be unaccessible, as well as read-only option so users can just view the files you’re sharing with them.
Last but not least, there’s a new feature dubbed as Remote wipe which can delete the files on a stolen or lost device, while keeping a safe backup on Dropbox. This way, you can unlink the stolen device from your Dropbox account and keep your data safe.
