Is there anything better than a long weekend? Yes. A long weekend spent doing absolutely nothing. Sure, I have plans to go hiking and to a baseball game but for the most part I will be on my couch enjoying my air conditioning, drinking iced coffee and binge-watching to my heart’s content. But Hannah, there’s so much to watch – how can you even decide where to start? Great question, hypothetical reader. I’ve combed the recent streaming additions to our favorite streaming sites, and I’ve selected your best options for this special Labor Day Weekend.

Thus, I present my Labor Day Weekend binge-watching guide.

1) The FXX Every Simpsons Ever Marathon:

Maybe you don’t have Netflix or HBO Go, but that doesn’t mean you can’t binge-watch the hell out of an amazing series. Luckily for you, the folks over at FXX must have anticipated a Labor Day Weekend full of binge-watching because the Every Simpsons Ever Marathon continues through the weekend with some of the later episodes of the famed show.

2) Netflix:

TV Shows:

– Sherlock, Season 3

Yup. You can finally return to swooning over Benedict Cumberbatch and his amazing accent. (Fun fact: I spelled that right the first time).

Best show to watch when you want to be soothed to sleep, and it’s all-around awesome.

BoJack Horseman

Admittedly, I haven’t started this yet but I plan to this weekend because I love Will Arnett and Amy Sedaris.

– Parenthood

Finally, the new season is on Netflix.

– Revenge

I have been anxiously awaiting the latest season of female Batman.

The Birdcage

I’ve never seen it, and it’s about time.

This movie holds a special place in my heart because for whatever reason my parents deemed it was acceptable to bring their 7-year-old daughter to this movie. Totally messed with me.

D2: The Mighty Ducks

I kid you not, I have been praying this would arrive on Netflix someday and I am ecstatic that the Netflix gods have answered my prayers.

-All five Rocky movies

I’ve been in Philadelphia way too long to not have seen all these movies. The time is now.

Nymphomaniac: Volume I and II

Because everyone’s been talking about it, and I like being in the know.

Spice World

Do I even have to explain this one? It’s one of the greatest movies ever, and if you care to disagree with me I would be happy to argue incessantly about it.

TV Shows

True Blood

The series just ended last week, and I’ve only sporadically watched the show. It’s time I see what all the fuss is about, and vampire sex sounds like a great way to spend a weekend.

True Detective

I have been waiting til it’s acceptable to re-watch this amazing show, and frankly I can’t wait any longer.

The Leftovers

Supposedly, it’s entertaining.

They just released a teaser for the new season, and if you’re looking to laugh this is the perfect show.

– The Dark Knight Rises

If you know me, you know I’m pretty Batman-obsessed. So even though I already own this movie on blu-ray, I’m happy it’s available here too.

– The World’s End

You won’t regret it.

– Hot Fuzz

Simon Pegg is everything I want to be.

-American Beauty

This is one of my favorites.

-The Darjeeling Limited

Another favorite. Lucky for the world, HBO Go just added a ton of Wes Anderson movies. RUN DON’T WALK.

Argo, film of the week

ARGO FUCK YOURSELF. And Ben Affleck. Swoon.

-Fight Club

In my top 10, and admittedly I already own it on blu-ray but cheers to accessibility! Three words: Brad Pitt’s abs.

Now get to watching! Have a great weekend!
