It is hard to find a gaming laptop that can also boast a slim design, but those laptops are beginning to hit the market in the 14-inch range. The same has not yet been true for 17-inch gaming laptops, at least until now. Lenovo has announced the Y70 Touch, a follow-up to its Y50, that weighs just 7.5 pounds but comes with more than enough power for gaming.
The Y70 Touch comes with a 17-inch 1920 x 1080p display, quad-core Haswell i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a GTX graphics card from Nvididia. As with most gaming devices, the specs can be tweaked, but no matter what they will capable of running most PC games.
Lenovo’s laptop only costs $1,299 for the base model, which is part of the reason why its slim design and relatively good specs are so impressive. Slim gaming laptops, even those that are only 14-inches, frequently cost more than $2,000.
There are a few other things customers can tweak to make the Y70 Touch as fit for them as possible. Customers can choose between a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hybrid drive, and they also have he option of modifying RAM capacity. Regardless of specs, Lenovo says the Y70 will last for 5 hours without a charge. Lenovo will be releasing the laptop in October.
