Between Sony’s money problems, leading to rampant rumors the Xperia smartphone division is up for sale, and the Z4’s near-guaranteed “delay”, we were pretty certain at one point the Japanese would skip this year’s Mobile World Congress altogether.
But that doesn’t seem to be the case after all. Not even close, with at least one high-end Xperia tablet and a mid-range handheld likely on a plane to Barcelona as we speak. Of course, the mid-range description doesn’t really do the E2303 justice if what GFX Bench recently revealed proves legit.
Then again, different sources tell us different things on the prospective specifications of this Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua successor, which could end up being called M4 Aqua. Whether it’s a quad or octa-core device, with 1 or 2 GB RAM on-board, it’ll definitely run Android 5.0 Lollipop upon launch.
Pricing should be in accordance with the final list of features, and so, we’re interested either way. Especially with the Aqua factor added in the equation, which is to say the gadget will resist water and dust contact, courtesy of IP68 certification.
