A credit card with a digital display

Avesco Inc. has has developed a new type of “Smart Card” that incorporates a digital display along with buttons. The combination of buttons and a display adds an extra security layer. The user has to enter the correct pin in order to unlock the card for transactions. As a gift card it can display the balance and expiration date. As a membership card it can display the balance points, membership level. However the main threat is misuse of the credit card on the Internet and this smart card displays a unique verification code or One Time Password (OTP) for each transaction, rendering a static credit card number useless.
