We previously told you about Toshiba’s 2006 laptops and now onto Lenovo. Cnet has rounded up the new models and some background on the ThinkPad series. Traditionally black in color, ThinkPads feature a TrackPoint pointing device, a keyboard light, the Active Protection System that shuts the hard drive down to prevent damage upon a fall, and a biometric fingerprint reader, all branded as ThinkVantage technologies.
Currently five models form the lineup:
- ThinkPad R: A basic and inexpensive midsize model
- ThinkPad T: The flagship thin-and-light model
- ThinkPad X: An ultraportable; the lightest ThinkPad available
- ThinkPad X tablet: The tablet version of the X-series laptop
- ThinkPad Z: Another thin-and-light model; the first wide-screen ThinkPad
