And iTunes has a winner…

Less than 16 days after Apple announced their 1 billion song contest the mark was hit. The 2,130 songs were sold every minute in 21 countries. The one billionth track downloaded, was Coldplay’s “Speed of Sound” from the album X&Y. Alex Ostrovsky was the lucky one who purchased the track, winning a 20-inch Mac, 10 60GB iPods and $10,000 in iTunes Music Card. Prizes are also given out for every hundred thousandth download, winners receiving a black 4GB iPod nano and a $100 iTunes Music Card.
