Apple’s iPod is so successful that even Samsung is looking to get some ideas from them… and by ideas, I mean designers. Since the beginning of the development of Samsung’s YP-Z5, they have worked with the lead designer of the iPod interface, Paul Mercer. Other projects that Mercer is known for include his work on Apple’s System 7 and the Newton project. In 1994, he left Apple and did his iPod work as an independent contractor.
