RoboCup is an international joint project to foster AI and intelligent robotics research by providing a standard problem. That seems cool but their specific goals is really scary, i.e., “By 2050, develop a team of fully autonomous humanoid robots that can win against the human world champion team in soccer.”

It all begins by beating us in soccer, next they take our jobs, then our mates and then they take over the world! It might be a more peaceful place to live, if the robots follow the three laws of robotics, created by Isaac Asimov, a famous science fiction writer. The three laws are:

  • A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  • A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  • A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Did you see the Terminator and iRobot? In the 2050 soccer game, Let’s Go Humans!
