Toshiba bumps miniSD to 2GB

As cellphones and other portable devices get smaller so much our memory cards, hence the introduction of miniSD, Memory Stick Duo, and so on. Well, today Toshiba announced a 2 gigabyte miniSD memory card. Its primary application is in mobile devices
with miniSD slots, but it can also be used in standard SD slots with an adapter.

The 2GB storage capacity is ideal for mobile phones with multi-megapixel cameras and music player functions: able to store up to
35 hours of music. The maximum writing speed is approx. 5MB/s and it adopts CPRM advanced copyright protection. The Toshiba 2GB miniSD Memory Card will be available in June 2006 priced at $109.99.
