Samuel L. Jackson is calling…I think it’s for you

Over at the offical Snakes on a Plane website you can make a call using Samuel L. Jackson’s voice to call anyone’s cell or land line. You just enter the phone number, enter the name of who is calling, enter the name of who the call is going to, select from a number of personal characteristics, and send the call. All of this uses Jackson pre-recorded voice. Unfortunately, you can’t speak into the computer and use his voice, but it will include their name in Jackson’s voice…pretty snazzy. Marketing company VariTalk, recently created the futuristic campaign with New Line Cinema, who reported that 100,000 messages were sent in the first 24 hours. The best part of this feature is that you can put anyone’s phone number in as the caller. If the person being called has caller ID, then the call looks like it is coming from that person. While you’re having fun spoofing someone’s caller ID, it also advertises the movie…another creative marketing idea.
