Apple jumps to 6.1 percent market share, just shy of Gateway

In just 12 short months, Apple has taken their U.S. market share to a whole new level. According to Gartner, they now stand at 6.1 percent just shy of Gateway. In in the previous period, they shipped 744,000 units, and they’re now up 975,000 for this year. That’s a 31 percent increase for you math people out there.
