Google ain’t the only big company interested in wiki sites. The U.S. government’s gettin’ wiki hip, too, using it to create Intellipedia, an internal government intelligence resource. The system is available to 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, amassing 28,000 pages from 3,600 registered users since it started this past April. Information from it is used to create a “national intelligence estimate” for the State Department’s annual terrorism reports. The plan is to also open portions of the site to various governments to gather more accurate intel. I can just imagine some smart-ass foreign agent uploading pictures of the president with devil horns and ginormous moustache, or changing officials’ names to stuff like “Dewd E. Head” or “Ivan P. Friely.” International good times to be had by all.
