Unreal TournamentA report was released today that’ll be good news for all the gamers out there that have significant others telling them to stop gaming. Besides past studies that have proven that gaming improves hand-eye coordination, a new study has come out saying that playing video games helps improve vision by up to 20%. More specifically, the study lists action games, such as Unreal Tournament, Battlefield 2142, and Counter-Strike as the games most likely to improve a person’s vision.

The study tested two different games, the classic Tetris game, along with Unreal Tournament. Tetris had almost no effect on the eye sight of its players, while Unreal Tournament gave its players a 20% boost in eye sight. The test was conducted at the University of Rochester.

  1. I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

    www.americanlegends.blogspot.com

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

    Thanks,
    David

  2. I tend to not fully agree with your post, I think you need to relax your eyes in order to create better eyesight. Doing a game is not exactly relaxing for your eyes.

Yet I'm not saying it's bad. I'm the author of http://www.seeingwithoutglasses.com

  6. Wow, I would love to see this study run again as I really doubt the accuracy of the results. So if I employ a <a href="game" rel="nofollow">http://www.gamecheats.com">game cheat, and load myself up with super weapons making it easier to kill the bad guys does my vision decrease becasue I don;t have to concentrate as hard?

  7. Basically, that was a research on playing game in University of Rochester. It was a positive research to play game. I knew also that concentration power along with eye sight increased by playing action games. If you want to develop your mind in research or some others serious type of work then speed of game should analysis.

  8. This is to reply to Chris Markett:
Dear Chris! I am the author of http://www.snezha.com and I would like to assure you that action games do help to improve the eyesight. The only problem is that these action games must not be virtual, they have to be real where movements of the whole body are involved.
As per computer action games – if only they are made on huge screens around the palyer….
