Toshiba claim HD-DVD players have sold 100,000 units

HD-DVD logoToshiba has stated that 100,000 HD-DVD players have been sold since the introduction of the format just over year ago (has it already been that long?). That figure doesn’t include HD-DVD drives in PCs or ones sold as Xbox 360 accessories, just standalone players.

The war between HD-DVD and Blue-ray is still ongoing and very strong, there is not yet any decisive factor in favor of each, however this milestone leaves me with a strong feeling HD-DVD is here to stay..
