The day after my mother gave birth to her second child, her husband left her, at 27 her mother died of a brain aneurysm leaving her to raise her young siblings along with her own children. She owned a dress shop, was a nighttime bookkeeper, Activities Director for the YMCA, and a Reserve Police Officer, but most of all she was a loving wife and mother. My mother is now a full time caregiver to my father who has Alzheimer's.

Hmmm, man I'd love it. But my mom does deserve something like this. She's been paying for internet for the past year and a half, however my father hasn't stayed home the days he's suppose to so they could get hooked up. Instead my mom sits sadly at the computer playing her solitare. It is quiet in the room, unless she wants to blast the music from the living room to hear it on the other side of the house. My Mom deserves an IPOD because I want to make her smile again, My was in a car accident that left her disabled and in pain 24 hours a day, I hate to see her in so much pain,she suffered major back injuries, My loves music but doesn't have anything to listen to it on, she love to listen Josh Groban, she says the only time she gets any releif from the pain is when she hears him sing it makes her smile, So this gift to her when be so helpful to her dealing with her pain.

My mom is FINALLY entering the 21st century. She has tackled using her DVD player, CD player and now her Cell Phone. The next step is an IPOD. She doesn't drive any more, so she spends a lot of time waiting for buses (or me) to pick her up for any kind of trip outside her apartment. In particular, she would look sooooo cool on the Senior Center shuttle bus listening to her IPOD. She'd definitely be the envy of all the other little grey-haired ladies.

Her father died when she was young and she has worked so hard for everything she has. I think she was born being a mom. For once, I would like for her to have an unexpected and well deserved surprise.
My mom was my Boss in a family business building homes for low-income elderly and handicapped, until a heart attack and the onset of Leukemia required me to become her caregiver. Considering she was a Polio survivor her achievements are priceless and I cannot give back enough.

My mom is the best to me. She isn't the most creative, she hasn't won any awards. She isn't perfect. But to me she is the best. I would love for my mom to get this gift. During this last year she was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins lymphoma directly behind he eye. She has had brain surgery, chemo, lost her hair, and she has done it with a smile. She didn't complain to God and say "Why me." She has been positive that she will beat this. She will live. Tomarrow she is having brain surgery again and a tube is being implanted in her head to inject the chemo straight to her brain. In 2 months she will begin radiation treatments. I think this would be a perfect Mother's Day Gift for her.
