Toshiba has released two new U series player in their Gigabeat family. The high-end models U102 and U101 come in an aluminum casing but features a measly 2GB and 1GB memory, respectively. They both feature 96×96 OLED displays, FM radio/recorders, are small and an impressive, long lasting 20 hour battery life. The best feature of this U series flash memory based DAP is the 1-bit DAC decoding which functions to enhance sound quality via noise reduction — a feature normally found only on midrange AV systems. On top of it, they both also support WMA, MP3, WAV and WM DRM 10 playback. With the price approximately at $142, you got one of the best sounding players around.
