V CASTVerizon is taking the gap between cell phone and music player and getting them just a little closer with their new V CAST Song ID. Like many other music fans, you hear a track and you almost instantly love it but then you realize you have no idea who it is.

With the V CAST Song ID service that problem should be solved. Simply capture some of the song with your V CAST Song ID phone and within seconds it will be identified. Once you know the song you will then have the option to order it over the air from you phone. You can get the ringtone, ringback tone or the full song and with just about 4 million tracks you will have a very good chance of finding that song you were looking for.

The V CAST Song ID service is currently available and is a free download from the Music and Tones section of the Get It Now virtual store. You will need a V CAST enabled phone to use the Song ID service. The service is free to use and will cost $1.99 per song download, you get 2 copies, 1 for your phone and 1 for your PC.

  1. Has anyone tried to use this service with simply a vcast-enabled phone and prepaid minutes? I'm under a service contract with Sprint and so I can't subscribe now, but I'd be willing to buy a phone if I knew I could run song id just by purchasing some prepaid minutes…

  2. I actually think this a great idea!!! I often hear a song on the radio that i like and am unable to identify the song to later download it. I think "garrett" misunderstood the way it works. The "Song ID" identifies the song and then gives you the option to purchase the track off of VCast. You don't have to buy the song, you can write it down and download it for free LATER when you have access to your computer. By the way "garrett", learn how to spell!!!!!

  4. that dumb

no one is going to pay $1.99 for a song when they could just download it for free off the internet and send it to there phone, and if u cant do that id rather use an ipod or mp3 player for free that pay that much per song!!!!!!

over all i thinks its a bad idea and i hope no one buys it to support this, i mean think about it, u pay almost $100.00 for 50 songs when u could get it off the internet for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I just got a VX8700 and have been playing around with this feature, it's frickin awesome! It has recognized some pretty obscure artists. It's totally free to id and I just get it later somewhere else.

  7. I just went to Tunes and Tones, and Song ID is $.99 per use. Maybe it's only "free" if you have V-Cast ($15 per month).

  8. I recently downloaded this feature but can't find it in any menu to use. I have to application search each time type Song ID and wait for it to tell me that I already have and am I ready to use it. What a pain just to use it. Can anyone help me figure out where to find this application without going through this annoying process?
