Toshiba has been doing some cool things lately, from touchscreen for your car, to surround sound for your laptop. Now the company plans to launch the Qosimo G45 laptop with writable HD DVD in time for the back to school rush of the fall. This HD DVD drive will be able to burn up to 30 gigs* of data on a single disc (* if the planets are aligned just so).
From the release:
“Toshiba prides itself on making products that are relevant and useful for everyone,” said Jeff Barney, vice president of marketing, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “With playback of up to 1080i across a wide range of our Satellite notebooks and up to 1080p among our Qosmio notebooks, users can begin to build a high-end home entertainment center upon the foundation of Toshiba’s first-class multimedia technology.”
The Qosimo G45 sports the new Nvidia Geforce 8600M graphics card which plays with Direct X for awesome screen images for movies to gaming.
Toshiba is counting on users making this laptop part of their entertainment center as HD content becomes more rich with downloadable internet content. From trailers, videos, behind the scenes action, set locations etc., there are many layers of content the Qosimo will be able to quickly and easily integrate into your entertainment.
Pricing and full specs to be announced in Q3 of this year.
