digg 4

Digg has undergone numerous aesthetic changes since its inception nearly 2 years ago. Through some heavy Flickr browsing, a potential leak for the next version of Digg has been uncovered.

This mockup/preview features more use of blue, outlines around everything, stripes (in different shades of blue), a Pictures section, and lots of gradients.

The biggest purported change is search by Google, which should be a welcome upgrade to Digg’s sluggish search.

In my opinion, all that needs to be done is the Pictures section and Google search integration. The visual aspects detailed in this picture look very awkward to me.

  5. All in all, the little added organization bits are nice, but the gradients make it take one step backwards. The team has already said it is going to have a minimal style.

The picture section would be nice, though.
