Apple has sold 3 billion songs through iTunes

iTunes LogoApple has announced that 3 billion songs have been downloaded from the iTunes Store. Currently iTunes is the most popular online music store with over 5 million songs, 550 TV shows and 500 movies available.

“We’d like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.

Apple has also overtaken Amazon and Target becoming the third largest music retailer in the US. Whether you love or hate iTunes you have to admit that it has a good thing going.
