Amazon has just put up pricing for the upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 title, Rock Band. The game, developed by Harmonix Music Systems, will set you back $200.
Now you may be wondering, Rock Band? Guitar Hero? Sounds pretty similar, right? Here’s a quick history lesson:
- Red Octane (publisher of Guitar Hero 1&2) was bought by Activision
- Activision/Neversoft takes over Guitar Hero series.
- Harmonix (developer of Guitar Hero 1&2) partnered with MTV Games to make Rock Band.
The general premise of Rock Band is to start, well, a rock band. In the box you get a guitar, a set of drums, and a microphone; the essentials to rockin’ out. There are three single player modes, each for each instrument. The multiplayer is both offline and online, so you can practice with your band with friends or with people from all over the world.
Look for Rock Band to drop in November of this year for the aforementioned $200.

amazon posted this price months ago. It's pure speculation, neither HArmonix nor EA nor MTV has said anything official on that front. Also, that box art is hilarious. If the actualy game looks anything like it, Harmonix is in big trouble…
If your smart enough to realize this price tag is pure speculation, wouldn't it make sense that the box art is speculation also? And really this game is being made (as you know) by Harmonix, the people that made guitar hero! I think that GH3 is in way more trouble than rock band.
