As the price of Flat-Panel HDTV’s continue to fall, it really has taken ‘price’ out of the equation in terms of factors to consider. Basically you will more than likely find something in your price range. For the record the NS-LCD37 has a MSRP of $799.99. So if not price what do you look for in a Flat-Panel? Looks? Picture quality? Specifications?
Looks wise the Insignia is pleasing on the eye, but not stunning. The picture quality is provided by a native resolution of 1366 x 768 with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The brightness of the display is 500 cd/m2 and the contrast ratio is 1000:1 and a 3D Y/C comb filter is included for apparentbetter picture quality.
Specifications include:
dual HDMI inpts
VGA and S-Video inputs
2 component, 1 composit and a headphone socket
Reviews indicate that the inbuilt speakers aren’t that great, but I wonder how many HDTV’s are used with the internal speakers and not hooked up to an audio system?

All in all this looks like a good mid range HDTV.
