Wow that is a long product name – good job the TV itself is 50 inches otherwise they might not fit the name on the back of it!
Chances are you are not as familar with the Hitachi product range as perhaps some of the other brands in the market. Chances are you should be, if this review, is anything to go by.
$3,500 is a lot of money for a TV, but it looks like it does a pretty decent job of justifying the price. The motorized display stand is very B&O’ish and they cost a lot more (trust me!).
If you use three HDMI ports you wont be let down, but you may be disspointed that only two are at the back on the TV, but apart from that everything seems pretty much perfect.
Color was fine, “upscaled DVD movies looked great at 1080i on the P5S601 50” Ultravision plasma HDTV and 300 on Blu-ray looked superb.” Programming off cable was “flawless”. Connectivity wasn’t an issue with the 3 HDMI ports joined by two wideband component inputs, two S-video inputs, PC D-sub, coax connector and a pair of composite inputs, oh and a optical output for digital audio out and an additional composite input set is located on the front panel.
So good specifications, good picture quality and a good looking unit. If $3,500 is in your price range it looks like this is well worth checking out.
